Club News:

 

  • Amateur Radio Club -application packets are due by the end of this month to Mrs. Cavin in the library. She'll need to confirm membership before the first club event in October.

Also, The Amateur Radio Room will be open after school today until 4pm for members who would like to make radio contacts. Also, make sure you've joined the google classroom for other announcements. For more information, see Mrs. Cavin in the library.

 

  • FCS, you will meet Wednesday at 7:15 in the new gym.

 

  • Student council members you must have your dues paid by September 22nd

 

  • Junior Civitans - a paper copy of the fair sign up sheet has now been placed outside of Mrs. Beach's room (6206). Members should come by to check for available spots and to make sure they have signed up for a shift. This is a wonderful opportunity that the WM Civitan club gives us to participate in the community, and in return, they help support our club. Also, if you are interested in helping with the Special Needs Day at the Fair on October 4th, the sign up sheet has been posted on our Google Classroom. Spaces are limited. See Mrs. Beach if you have any questions.

 

  • Attention Board Game Club members: you have a meeting this Wednesday after school in the library.

 

  • Those  of you who supported the library by purchasing a Chicken biscuit, that delivery day is THIS THURSDAY! Don’t forget and thank you for supporting the library.

 

News from Testing: 

 

  • The PSAT will be given at West Monroe High School on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 7:45 am in Edgewood.  

All students in 11th grade honors/AP classes are strongly encouraged to take this test.  Registration ends Friday, October 6th.  Students must register with their English teacher to take the test, but must pay their $30 registration on-line at gorebs.org 

If you have any questions, please see your English III teacher. 


 

News from Guidance:

 

  • ULM is also hosting their "Browse on the Bayou" Event on Saturday, September 30th. This is another free opportunity to tour ULM and learn about the academic and student life on campus, and enjoy the game! If you are interested in attending this event, please register online at ulm.edu

 

  • The Deadline to Register for the October ACT is THIS FRIDAY.

 

News from Classes: 

 

  • Attention all students taking a dual enrollment course this semester through ULM or LA Tech: It's time to start paying for your DE coursework if you are taking over the allotted amount that Ouachita Parish School Board will pay. As a reminder, OPSB is paying for the following this semester: Seniors- 3 classes, Juniors- 2 classes.  If you have an overage, that cost is $150 per course that you are over, and your payment will go to ULM. You may pay by check(making your payment to ULM) and give it to Mrs. Hunt or pay online through your ULM account. If paying by check, write your full name on the memo line. Payments are due by Wednesday, Oct. 4. If you have a question about how much you owe, talk to one of your dual enrollment teachers or Mrs. Hunt. 

  • Attention all students enrolled in AP courses, the deadline to join AP classroom is Friday, September 22.  This is mandatory for all AP students.   Also, the $40 deposit for each exam is due by October 25th.  This deposit is non-refundable and must be paid for each AP course are enrolled in. You can make payment at the Online School Payments page located under quick links at gorebs.org.  Once these deadlines have passed, there will be additional late fees added to your accounts. Please take care of this now and do not wait until the last day.  If you have any questions reach out to your AP teacher, or email Mr. Lovelady at zacharylovelady@opsb.net

 

News from Sports: 

 

  • Tonight the Volleyball team will be playing Pineville at 4:00 in the New Gym

 

  • Friday, the Varsity Football team plays Scotlandville at home. It’s Senior Night for our Spirit Groups. Be sure to come support our team and classmates
